There was a thought that suddenly came to mind. It was about grieving the Holy Spirit. In the book of Ephesians 4: 30, we find the following text:

“And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption”.

When this came to my mind, I immediately was taken to the part where Jesus grieves for Jerusalem in Matthew 23: 37:

“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones God’s messengers! How often I have wanted to gather your children together as a hen protects her chicks beneath her wings, but you wouldn’t let me”.

And so I began to meditate on this thought, and I realized the main objective of the Holy Spirit is to bring believers to the body of Christ. This work is the same work He did in the old testament when he wanted to gather the Israelites back to God through the prophets. But they all rejected him. We know God sent prophets to give a message of repentance to the people of Israel, but they were either killed or persecuted.

And when Matthew 23: 37 gives us the description of Christ grieving over Israel, it tells us that his desire is still the same. The Holy Spirit is still at work, just like He did in old times. Today the Holy Spirit is working and guiding the believer to all truth and helping them bear good fruits, a sign of a newly transformed person.

The scriptures also say in Colossians 1: 16:

“For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him”.

This means we were created by God, through Christ so we can be with Him. That is why the Holy Spirit is gathering us to be with Christ, and when one divides the church, that person is not only grieving the Holy Spirit but is grieving Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for us.

Therefore, we must be aware of individuals whose objective is to harm and disperse the sheep of Christ.
